The Professional Certificate in Concept Art aims to train students to work in professional studios by providing them with the right environment, practices and attitudes suitable to professional set ups. Concept art course modules cover topics like composition, perspective, environment design, character design, creature design and more.
The programme emphasizes on the mastery of traditional, technical, creative and conceptual abilities in all aspects of the concept development process. With extensive coverage of game concept art and film concept art - students are introduced to various roles that can be pursued in the game / film production process.

CON202: Creature Design
This module covers fundamental ideas behind creature design through the creation of unique thumbnails and rough studies. Students will learn techniques in digital concept art for designing interesting and memorable creature concept. It also covers basics such as unique Creature studies, construction and anatomy, posing, Realistic Textures and lighting techniques.
CON203: Environment Design
Developing environments for the entertainment industry is one of the cornerstones of the concept artist's work. The students are trained to apply the fundamentals of composition and perspective in creating environment. Students will learn to develop themes and styles specific to different genres. Topics covered include cartoon, realism, hyper-realism styles for games and film.
This module guides students through the final stages of creating a portfolio that is geared towards creating illustrations for games and films. Interviewing and presentation techniques will be introduced, along with strategies for developing an effective self-promotional campaign.

Zaki brings with him more than 18 years of experience in various creative industries, from illustration to animation. Zaki has been a valuable addition to various companies such as Scrawl Studios and Chip & Toons taking up the responsibility of Animation Director in both places. In addition to his illustrious career, Zaki has also been published 5 times - with his latest comic, Badang, being a historical comic based on the Second World War in Singapore.
1. General Interest
Applicants must have a passion for creation, a love of media and entertainment, and willingness to strive for good results.
16 years old (based on date of birth) by the date that classes start.
For IMDA Grant application, age requirement will be 18 years old and above (Singaporean and PR only).
3. Academic Qualifications for Diploma Intake
GCE ‘A’ Level or
3 GCE ‘O’ Level passes or Certificate Level or NITEC
The entrance requirements differ from country to country but in general applicants must have satisfactorily completed 12 years of senior high school education or equivalent.

GCE ‘O’ Level English
English grade of C6 required for IT and Gaming programmes related courses.
Pass interview with the Academic Director and assessment by Academic Board (if student does not meet the above English requirements).

Student may attend additional English classes and pass at the equivalent of upper intermediate level (if student does not meet any of the above English requirements).
