This module focuses on to creating believable form and texture for 3D environments. Students explore the tools used to create and render photo-realistic images while an emphasis is placed on using these skills to creating computer-generated environments and images.

ADVFX202: Dynamics and Effects

This module focuses on Dynamics and effects animation pertaining to VFX. Students learn how to create rigid and soft body dynamic effects as well as how to create simulations to mimic natural phenomena.

Procedural Modeling and Animation

ADVFX203: Procedural Modeling and Animation

Students learn about the techniques of procedural modeling and animation used in visual effects film. This module focuses on the core tool set for producing motion keyframing, procedural modeling and animation, and dynamics.

Visual Effects Compositing I

ADVFX204: Visual Effects Compositing I

Compositing is the glue that binds all the elements of a shot together. Many sophisticated visual effects can be created directly within the compositing environment. In this hands-on module, students learn in depth digital compositing techniques. Integration of computer generated imagery with live action is extensively covered.

As a lead lecturer in US institutes, Rajesh has successfully trained students for employment in animation and creative arts industry for companies such as Electronic Arts, Bungie Studios and Gulfstream Aerospace. Some institutions he has lectured in include, Career Education Corporation in Orlando, Florida and Brown College in Minneapolis, USA.

As an immensely creative artist, he has extended his animation, 3D modelling and VFX expertise into building Virtual Reality Environments and Experiences. Rakesh has been working in the education field for the past 7 years with various film and creative media schools. Rakesh has successfully trained students for employment in animation and the creative technology industry. He completed his Advanced Diploma in Animation from MAGES Institute of Excellence, Singapore.

Jerome graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Animation, from Nanyang Technological University. His directorial debut, Hooked (2010), made official selection in Singapore TBS Digicon 6. He has since directed and produced under various companies for clients such as HDB, Singapore Prisons, People’s Association, Aviva and Google. He now serves as the resident producer and director in Pharaoh Entertainment.

At least 30 years of age, with 8 years of work experience.

  • GCE ‘O’ Level English – Requires a minimum of C6 English grade
  • OR Pass interview with the Academic Director and assessment by Academic Board (if student does not meet the above English requirement)
International Students
  • IELTS 5.5
  • OR Other equivalent qualifications where the medium of instruction is English
  • OR Student may attend additional English classes and pass at the equivalent of upper intermediate level (if student does not meet any of the above English requirements)
