PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Advanced Diploma in Interactive Media and Production (ADIMP) at MAGES Institute prepares aspiring professionals in Games (Development/Art) and AR/VR technologies with the tools, techniques, and skills necessary to thrive in the immersive technology industry.

 

This program offers specialized training in Games and AR/VR applications, alongside essential competencies such as problem-solving, collaboration, and project management. Students benefit from a dynamic, team-based learning environment, mentorship by industry professionals, and practical experience in real-time 3D production, interactive storytelling, and multidisciplinary projects.

 

The curriculum bridges creative and technical disciplines, ensuring graduates are fully equipped to excel in Games, AR/VR production, and other cutting-edge fields.

DURATION: 12 Months (Full-Time) or 17 Months (Part-Time, subject to batch confirmation)

International Students are only offered Full-Time programme.

STUDENT-TO-LECTURER RATIO: 18 Students : 1 Lecturer

MODE OF DELIVERY: Blended learning, including classroom lectures, hands-on practical sessions, and self-directed online learning. Learners are not allowed to switch modes after programme commencement.

NOTE: A Pass in all Modules within the maximum study period is required for Graduation.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS: Windows Laptop with a Minimum of: i7 (13th Gen) Processor or Ryzen 7, 16 GB RAM (32 GB recommended), RTX 2060 or above, 500 GB SSD (1 TB recommended)

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT: Lectures & Practical (Hands-on Application), Project-based Assessment for all modules

Real-Time 3D Production

This block focuses on developing techniques and workflows in real-time 3D production. Students will enhance their expertise in designing, building, and refining interactive experiences, mastering tools and principles essential for creating modern applications.

Advanced Design and Development

This block focuses on advanced tools and practices to create refined, interactive experiences across disciplines. Students will learn how to enhance functionality, scalability, and visual impact while collaborating on complex projects. The curriculum integrates technical systems, immersive design, and artistic refinement to ensure applicability across all specializations.

Modeling and Animation

Production Studio

This final block simulates a real-world studio environment where students tackle industry-relevant problems and collaborate on multidisciplinary projects. The focus is on applying technical, creative, and managerial skills to deliver professional-level solutions.

Students will also gain experience in team dynamics, milestone planning, and client-oriented development, preparing them for challenges in the industry.

INSTRUCTORS

Rajesh Chakravarthy has worked in digital art and design for the past 18 years (stationed as an educator within various creative media and tech schools for 9 of those years) and is a veteran AR/VR developer and an Unreal Engine Authorised Instructor.  His leadership has led many students to successful careers within prominent companies around the globe. Rajesh’s research and hard work has made great strides in Augmented and Virtual Reality, as he intersects design, technology, and business through his many ventures in prototyping and education.

Nanda has a remarkable experience in the IT industry and the education industry specially in the field of 3D Graphic Animation, Game Programming and Game Development & Design. Nanda is a Unity Certified Developer and also an Unreal Engine Authorised Instructor, in addition to having certification from Microsoft and Oracle. Nanda has working experience in United States, India and Singapore. With his excellent communication and interpersonal skills, he proves to be a truly commendable and valuable lecturer for MAGES.

With over 25 years of working experience, in companies such as ICONIX International and Delcan Corporation in Toronto, Canada. Thomas has played a key role in developing the Automatic Fare Collection System for the Taiwan High Speed Rail in Taipei. His significant experience in the IT industry enriches both his industrial training and his academic teaching. He has teaching experience in subjects like Games Programming at various Singaporean institutions.

Jeffrey is an Indie developer/generalist since 2007, mostly focused on gameplay, AI,UI/UX, Networking, Script Systems, and mobile programming. He has co-founded game studio Touch Dimensions Interactive and shipped notable games including Wizards and Wagons, Autumn Dynasty warlords, Huff and Puff and Totem Star.

Luther Chan has more than 10 years of experience in the Game Industry. His strength is in Game Development and Emerging Technologies. He is the Founder of Explosive Barrel an independent game development studio that focuses on creating high quality games and we have been doing so for over 10 years. In addition to creating our own games, they also create games for websites and brands. His previous clients include Ubisoft, Coke, Cheetos, E4, NHS and Air France-KLM. Luther graduated with a Bachelor of Computing (Communications and Media), from the National University of Singapore.

Justin is a Master's Degree holder in Game Arts and Design from University of Hertfordshire with 7 years of working experience in the Creative Industry as a CG/3D Artist. He has also worked on a wide repertoire of projects with international renowned brands such as Japan Digital Entertainment (SGames), SAF and other Singapore Government linked companies in making 3D assets. With a passion to teach, Justin aims to inspire future artists to explore and expand the horizons of what is possible.
