Learn Game Maker in Holiday Class

Turn your love for video games into a career using the Game Development for Youth Course. This 30 hour holiday class which is specifically designed for youth will help you bring your ideas to life by learning the basics of Unity and C#. You can learn game maker which will help you improve your game with every step. Incorporating feedback into your game design is an integral part of game development which you’ll learn here. Game level design in 2D and 3D space and programming with C# including managing game assets and game design loop are the learning outcomes.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Step behind the scenes of your favorite game and become the creator. In this hands-on, three-day workshop, participants will learn how to design, build, and test their own custom Fortnite maps using Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN).

 

 

Each session introduces real-world tools and creative design principles used by professional developers. By the end of the workshop, every participant will have crafted and showcased their own playable Fortnite game experience.

GETTING STARTED WITH UEFN

Dive into Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and discover how Fortnite islands are brought to life. Through creative challenges and quick builds, participants begin shaping their very first game world.

GAME DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY

Bring your ideas to life by adding gameplay mechanics, experimenting with tools, and testing early versions with friends. This day is all about building, improving, and collaborating.

POLISH AND SHOWCASE

Add the final touches and get ready to showcase your creation. Participants will share their worlds, celebrate each other’s progress, and walk away with a game they built from scratch.

INSTRUCTORS

Nanda has a remarkable experience in the IT industry and the education industry specially in the field of 3D Graphic Animation, Game Programming and Game Development & Design. Nanda is a Unity Certified Developer and also an Unreal Engine Authorised Instructor, in addition to having certification from Microsoft and Oracle. Nanda has working experience in United States, India and Singapore. With his excellent communication and interpersonal skills, he proves to be a truly commendable and valuable lecturer for MAGES.

Thomas has played a key role in developing the Automatic Fare Collection System for the Taiwan High Speed Rail in Taipei. He has teaching experience in subjects like Games Programming at various Singaporean institutions.

Participants will need an Epic Games account (free to create). All other software and equipment will be provided.

Yes, the program is built around Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), an official tool by Epic Games that allows students to design and build their own playable Fortnite islands in a safe, offline environment.
