About Virtual Reality School

Overview Augmented Reality Institute
MAGES Institute is a premier Augmented Reality Institute in Singapore conducting Professional Certification MR Course (called XR Immersive) along with AR Course and VR Classes. MAGES AR Course covers the basics of Augmented Reality using Unity Engine and C# Programming for scripting, including creating and setting up markers in an immersive environment, and implementing it in a functional AR application designed to solve a real-world problem. Students would utilise technical knowledge such as interface wireframes, markers and placements, and combine them with the principles of design and interaction to create a functioning Augmented Reality application. The Application would also take into account immersion techniques such as sound and appropriate quality visuals, while balancing the technical needs with hardware limitations applicable today. This foundational knowledge of Augmented Reality will allow students to understand the constituents of an AR experience and effectively develop their own AR App.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Age : 18 years old or above,
3 GCE ‘O’ Levels incl Minimum of C6 Grade in English
Minimum Entry Requirements
- 2 credit passes at GCE ‘O’ Level in any subjects excluding English or
- Or GCSE/IGCSE-5 subject passes including English in Grade A to C
- Or ITE NITEC or Higher NITEC or equivalent (eg Post Nitec Certificate in Office Skills/Certificate in Business Skills)
- Or Singapore Integrated Programme: Completed IP Year 4
- Or At least 2 WSQ Statements of Attainment in Workplace Literacy or Numeracy (WPLN) at Level 4 or 5 and above (eg under Employability Skills System (ESS) certification)
- Or ITE modular certificate at the post-secondary level (non-tertiary) or equivalent
- Or Foundation Certificate in Art and Technology or Certificate in Art or Animation related course in MAGES or other institutions with similar qualifications
- For International – Applicants should have an Equivalent to Year 10** qualification with an average of 65% (** from the respective home country of the applicant) with proof of pass in English
- Alternate Admission Requirements-Submit Portfolio and pass the interview with Academic Director and approved by Academic Board
English Proficiency Requirement
- IELTS 5.5 or Pass in the English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualifications.
- Applicants who do not have IELTS 5.5 must pass MAGES English Proficiency Test; approved by Academic Board

I do not have any technical background. Can I join this course?
Our Professional Certificate Programs are designed for beginners, the first module (Fundamentals) is meant to cover any skill gaps before starting the core designing and programming portion of the Program.
Are there any other funding/grant or instalments available?
Multiple grants are applicable for our courses like SSG, PSEA and UTAP, the total grant amount would depend on a variety of factors such as age, nationality, and any other Terms & Conditions as applicable.
What are the hardware requirements for this Program? Will I have to purchase it myself?
The XR Immersive Professional Certificate program requires an Oculus Quest 2 (for Virtual Reality development), and an Android phone (for Augmented Reality development), along with a relatively modern Laptop.
