Overview Augmented Reality Institute

MAGES Institute is a premier Augmented Reality Institute in Singapore conducting Professional Certification MR Course (called XR Immersive) along with AR Course and VR Classes. MAGES AR Course covers the basics of Augmented Reality using Unity Engine and C# Programming for scripting, including creating and setting up markers in an immersive environment, and implementing it in a functional AR application designed to solve a real-world problem. Students would utilise technical knowledge such as interface wireframes, markers and placements, and combine them with the principles of design and interaction to create a functioning Augmented Reality application. In this term students will learn various XR development frameworks and their applications along with Game Programming Fundamentals

Term 1 : Fundamentals

The first section of our XR courses focuses on the core knowledge and basic principles behind Immersive Technology. In this term students will learn various XR development frameworks and their applications along with Game Programming Fundamentals. Students will focuses on mastering C# programming and game design principles for XR applications. Students will also gain proficiency in reading and understanding C# source code, coding game designs, and developing simple prototypes of games or apps.

The program will cover the following modules:

  • Game Programming Fundamentals

The second term presents the opportunity for students to learn applicable skills in Augmented and Virtual Reality Design and Development.

Term 2 : Skills

The second term presents the opportunity for students to learn applicable skills in Augmented and Virtual Reality Design and Development. This includes marker-based and markerless AR Experiences and learning the ins and outs of both desktop and mobile design. Moreover, they will be introduced to generative AI workflows, enabling them to explore innovative approaches in creating AR and VR applications.

The term will cover the following modules :

  • Augmented Reality Design and Development
  • Virtual Reality Design and Development

In their third term, students execute an XR application for a genuine enterprise to use as part of their portfolio.

Term 3 : Skills

In their third term, students execute an XR application for a genuine enterprise to use as part of their portfolio. Students will also participate in a research-based studio practice that uses skills and knowledge gained throughout the course and presents a polished Capstone project for prospective employers in the field.

The project serves as a culmination of their learning journey, allowing them to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and ability to apply XR technologies to practical applications.

What are the hardware requirements for this Program? Will I have to purchase it myself?

The XR Immersive Professional Certificate program requires an Oculus Quest 2 (for Virtual Reality development), and an Android phone (for Augmented Reality development), along with a relatively modern Laptop. Please contact us for the updated Minimum and Recommended Specs for the Laptop.
