Build practical fluency in AI tools for business decision-making and productivity
An AI Course for Business Professionals, Not Engineers
The Business AI Tool Kit is a one-day AI course for business professionals in Singapore. It runs from 9am to 6pm on Thursday 22 October 2026 at the MAGES campus, and it is funded by SkillsFuture Singapore under course code TGS-2025060920 – which brings the fee down to S$424.80 for Singaporeans aged 21 to 39 and PRs, and S$280.80 for Singaporeans aged 40 and above.
There is no coding on this course and no prior AI experience is assumed. It is built for the person who has been told their organisation needs an AI strategy, has opened ChatGPT a few times, and is not sure how to get from one to the other.
The day moves in five steps. You start by understanding what the models actually are and how ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini differ in practice. You then map AI against your own business – which processes are suitable, which are not, and where the value sits. The afternoon moves from conversation to control: prompt engineering, then context engineering, then building a configured assistant of your own.
You build one working AI workflow live with the trainer. And you close by putting a number on it – feasibility, cost-benefit, risk, ethics and a rollout plan you can show a manager.
You leave with a completed AI workflow, a configured assistant you built yourself, and a one-page adoption case for your own organisation.
Who Should Attend This AI Course for Business
This course is designed for people who make or influence decisions about how work gets done, rather than people who build software.
It is a good fit if you are:
- A manager, team lead or department head who has been asked what AI means for your function
- A business owner or director deciding whether and where to invest in AI
- An operations, HR, finance, marketing or administration professional whose work involves repeating processes
- A consultant or analyst who needs to advise clients on AI adoption
- Anyone who has used ChatGPT casually and wants to use it deliberately
It is probably not the right course if you:
- Want to build AI agents that run autonomously – take the AI Agent Course Singapore instead, which spends 20 hours on exactly that
- Want to generate images, video or audio with AI – take the AI Course in Singapore: Multimodal Creation
- Want to write code or build AI applications – look at the Full Stack Web Development with AI professional certificate
Entry requirements: 18 years or older, N Level education or equivalent, WPLN Level 6 or above in English, and basic computer skills including word processing and presentation software. No prior work experience in technology is required.

FAQs
What is this AI course for business about?
It is a one-day, non-technical AI course for business professionals in Singapore. You cover five areas: how the models work and how ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini differ; where AI fits your business strategy and which processes suit it; prompt engineering and context engineering, including building a Custom GPT or Claude Skill of your own; building a complete AI workflow live with the trainer; and assessing adoption — feasibility, cost, risk, ethics and ROI. You leave with a working workflow, a configured assistant and a one-page adoption case for your organisation.
Is this course technical?
No. The course is designed for business professionals. No programming or technical AI development knowledge is required.
Will I learn how to choose the right AI tools?
Yes. You’ll gain structured criteria for evaluating and comparing AI tools based on business needs, feasibility, and risk.
Does the course cover new AI tools and trends?
Yes. The course covers current AI tools relevant to business applications, with emphasis on evaluation frameworks rather than experimentation alone.
How is this different from general AI awareness programs?
Most AI awareness programmes explain what AI is. This course focuses on what to do with it – which tool for which task, how to evaluate options, and how to apply AI in your work. You will also get hands-on previews of what’s possible: content creation with multimodal AI, automation with agent workflows, and building with no-code tools. You get a clear view of the landscape — and a path forward if you want to go deeper.
What certification will I receive
A Certificate of Completion is issued upon successful completion of the assessment.
How much does an AI course for business cost in Singapore?
At MAGES the full fee is S$784.80 including GST. After the SkillsFuture Singapore course fee grant you pay S$424.80 if you are a Singaporean aged 21 to 39 or a Permanent Resident, or S$280.80 if you are a Singaporean aged 40 or above. SkillsFuture Credit can be applied against that amount, which for many participants reduces the out-of-pocket cost to zero. The subsidy is applied at the point of registration – you do not pay the full fee and claim it back.
What is context engineering, and how is it different from prompt engineering?
Prompt engineering is about writing a better instruction. Context engineering is about controlling everything the model sees before it answers – the system prompt that sets its role and rules, the reference material you supply, the output format you require, and the boundaries you set. Prompt engineering improves one answer; context engineering produces a configured assistant that performs consistently every time. On this course you work through three levels of prompting and then build your own configured assistant using Claude Skills or a Custom GPT, with a system prompt written for a task you repeat at work.
Which AI tools will I use on the course?
ChatGPT, Claude and Google Gemini. You will compare all three on the same task so you can see where each is stronger, rather than taking a feature comparison on trust. You will also work with Custom GPTs and Claude Skills when you build your configured assistant in the afternoon. All you need is a Windows or Mac laptop no older than 2017; free tiers of each tool are sufficient for the course.
Do I need to take a day of leave?
The course runs 9am to 6pm on a single weekday. Most participants either take a day of annual leave or attend under their employer’s training budget. If your employer is sponsoring you, eligible Singapore companies can claim up to 90% of out-of-pocket costs through the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit via the Business Grants Portal. Speak to an advisor if you would like a quotation your employer can submit.
Will this course help me build an AI strategy for my organisation?
Yes – that is the purpose of Sections 2 and 5. You compare traditional and AI-enabled business models, identify which areas of your organisation are suitable for AI, and align AI against your existing goals and pain points. You then work through feasibility, cost-benefit, organisational readiness, risk, ethics and stakeholder engagement, and finish by producing a one-page rollout and ROI plan for your own organisation. The course is designed so that you leave with a document you can take to a decision-maker, not just notes.
